Importing academic data from scientific publications

The goal of the project was to develop an application that could import academic data from scientific publications. The subsequent step was to harness the power of ChatGPT, converting this academic data into a useful basis for shorter content such as summaries, blog posts and educational articles.

Systematic collaboration between Veracell’s development and design team and the business and communications professionals at Nightingale helped to align the solution with the use case. This coordinated effort was instrumental in shaping the final product, ensuring its functionality was attuned to the requirements set forth by the business and communications team.

Nightingale's team delineated their specific requirements and prioritized not only the types of content but also took into consideration the preferences and expectations of their target demographic. Responding to this, Veracell’s teams focused on crafting an appropriate user interface and integrating the ChatGPT engine.

Translating sources into accessible content with GPT-4

GPT-4 was central in translating the academic sources into accessible content. In the initial phase we wanted to ensure its capability to handle diverse academic data and consistently produce varied textual content in Finnish and English.

One of the main achievements of the software was its ability to offer a straightforward mechanism for importing diverse academic studies. With ChatGPT at its helm, it adeptly transformed dense academic insights into a range of material suitable for an array of platforms. For Nightingale's business and communications team, this tool streamlines their processes and enhances efficiency in drafting out new content.

The collaboration between Veracell and Nightingale led to a functional solution within a short timeframe. As with any novel technology, our aim was to quickly uncover the possibilities and restrictions of the solution.
